| Down To Go Up |
August 29, 2008 |
Wyatt Toregas knows he let a golden opportunity slip by him. Now the Indians catcher is determined not to let it happen again. "I just took things a little too much for granted being on the 40-man (roster)," admitted Toregas, who now suits up for Double-A Akron after a demotion from Triple-A Buffalo. "I just let it get to my head." |

| Going For Gold |
August 29, 2008 |
A small step forward resulted in a giant leap ahead for Double-A Tulsa center fielder Dexter Fowler, who was hitting .337/.430/.469 when he left the Drillers to join Team USA for the Beijing Olympics. A broken right hand limited him to 65 games last year at high Class A Modesto, but the switch-hitting Fowler began this season well, hitting .293/.369/.485 in April and .287/.386/.417 in May. |

| Price Is Right |
August 29, 2008 |
David Price throws fast. And he's been moving that way, too. The Rays promoted the top pick of the 2007 draft to Triple-A Durham for an Aug. 13 debut, making it three levels for the hard-throwing lefthander in three months. And the final step may come soon. |

| An Unlikely Leap |
August 29, 2008 |
There may be more unlikely players than righthander Shawn Kelley to have hopped up two levels in just his second year in the Mariners system, but there probably aren't many. Kelley, a 13th-round pick out of Austin Peay in 2007, spent much of his time in college recovering from Tommy John surgery (in 2003) and playing third base and in the outfield. But Kelley has been fast-tracked as a pro and he's responded as a short reliever, going from low Class A Wisconsin to high Class A High Desert to his current post at Double-A West Tenn. |
